Three Quick Outdoor Date Ideas

Updated: Jun 17, 2022

Does this sound like you? You just wrapped up with work and now you’re watching Netflix on the couch next to your partner because you’re too tired to do anything else. Or maybe you’re still working (do 9-5’s still exist? 🤷‍♂️), but at least you’re working side by side with your partner. While both of these activities involve close proximity, they definitely aren’t maximizing your connection with your partner. That’s why we decided to provide some easy and quick date activities that you can do with your partner (hatched up by fellow busy couples). And since the weather is getting nicer day-by-day, all of these date activities are outdoor themed 🌼.

Couples app

  1. 🔎Mini-scavenger hunt - This activity can be as long or as short as you want, it all depends on how many stops you add and the distance between your stops. It can also be customized to support any end goal, the example below is food themed and ends with a meal (not necessary, but who doesn’t love food rewards). You can also use this activity as an opportunity to revisit old date spots or areas in the neighborhood that are special to you both.

    1. Goal: Have partner guess riddles that lead to spots with special memories to you both, ending in a special meal that you make together

    2. Step 1: One partner writes down 3-5 clues for the other partner to guess, each clue leads to (or should be near) a place where you can buy part of the ingredients needed to create the meal

      1. Clues that involve the partner guessing old date spots are extra fun!

    3. Step 2: Give you partner the clues one-by-one (preferably in an order that prevents you from zig-zagging throughout the neighborhood)

      1. At each stop, buy the ingredients and have your partner try to guess what you’re making for the meal (they usually get it by the 2nd or 3rd stop)

    4. End: Voila! By the last stop, you should have all of the required ingredients and can make the meal right away or save it for a later day

  2. 🎧Shared music stroll outside - Co-create a playlist and add 3-5 songs each (if you have more time, add more songs!🎶). Then go for a nice stroll outside and share earphones (one earphone each, made much easier with bluetooth), putting the playlist on shuffle. This is a great opportunity to share all of the new songs you want your partner to hear.

  3. ☀️ Watch the sunset (or sunrise) - Here’s a fun question, do you prefer the sunrise or sunset? Once you’ve figured that out, head to a balcony or park to soak in the rays and enjoy some coffee (sunrise) or adult beverages (sunsets). There’s nothing like enjoying the beautiful hues of a sunset with your best friend.

  4. Bonus: ✨Stargazing and novel conversation - If you’re watching the sunset, why not hangout for a bit and gaze at the stars? It’s a great opportunity to try some of the couple’s conversation starter questions that we have posted on our instagram to learn new things about each other!
